What is Reiki Healing?
Reiki (pronounced ray-key), a sacred art, is an ancient form of Japanese energy healing. The Reiki practitioner channels the energy that is in and around all things to the being in need of healing.
Reiki supports the body's natural ability to heal itself by strengthening and aligning vital energy. Reiki works at the causal level of disease, healing on four levels: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.
Reiki is not a religion or belief system, and it works in conjunction with all other medical and therapeutic techniques.
The practitioner works in one of two ways: by placing hands on the client's body (which includes the auric field around what is traditionally considered the body) or at a distance (any distance), which requires no physical contact.
Animals are profoundly open to this type of healing. They don't question whether it is really happening; they just accept what they need, then move away.
I have used Reiki to help relieve colic and other digestive upsets; in cases of physical trauma and shock; to help wounds heal and diseases resolve more quickly; to help resolve mental and emotional upsets, such as with abused, traumatized, or sad animals; and as an addition to neuro-muscular retraining sessions.
I use Reiki to open a channel for telepathic communication with animals, who often give me messages for their human friends, tell me about their physical ailments, or--in the case of very sick animals--indicate when they are going to die. I also use Reiki to help animals transition from this world to the next.
